چکیده

We have performed SQUID-NMR measurements on rhodium nuclei at ultralow temperatures. With initial polarizations of up to p = 0.95, the susceptibility data showed clear indications of an antiferromagnetic tendency, but nevertheless no signs of nuclear magnetic ordering. The lowest actually measured nuclear temperature was 280 pK, whereas the lowest nuclear temperatures achieved were below 100 pK. Double and triple-spin-flip resonance lines were detected, yielding direct information of the interactions between the nuclear spins. The superconducting transition was observed with the critical values, Tc = 210 μK and Bc(0) = 3.4 μT. Measurements with polarized nuclei were performed also in the superconducting state, where the effect of superconductivity on the spin-lattice relaxation rate was studied. The spin-lattice relaxation time was longer in the superconducting state at all temperatures.

Relaxation of polarized nuclei in superconducting rhodium

Nuclear spin lattice relaxation rates were measured in normal and superconducting (sc) rhodium with nuclear polarizations up to p = 0. 55. This was sufficient to influence the sc state of Rh, whose T(c) and B(c) are exceptionally low. Because B(c)<<B(loc) and the short-range spin-spin interaction is unchanged, the nuclear spin entropy was fully sustained across the sc transition. The relaxation...

Double-spin-flip resonance of rhodium nuclei at positive and negative spin temperatures

Sensitive SQUID-NMR measurements were used to study the mutual interactions in the highly polarized nuclear-spin system of rhodium metal. The dipolar coupling gives rise to a weak double-spin-flip resonance. The observed frequency shifts allow deducing separately the dipolarlike contribution and the isotropic exchange term. For the first time, such measurements were extended to negative absolut...

Strongly spin-polarized current generated in a Zeeman-split unconventional superconductor

We consider a thin-film normal-metal/superconductor junction in the presence of an externally applied in-plane magnetic field for several symmetries of the superconducting order parameter. For p-wave superconductors, a strongly spin-polarized current emerges due to an interplay between the nodal structure of the superconducting order parameter, the existence or nonexistence of zero-energy surfa...

Extremely long quasiparticle spin lifetimes in superconducting aluminium using MgO tunnel spin injectors.

There has been an intense search in recent years for long-lived spin-polarized carriers for spintronic and quantum-computing devices. Here we report that spin-polarized quasiparticles in superconducting aluminium layers have surprisingly long spin lifetimes, nearly a million times longer than in their normal state. The lifetime is determined from the suppression of the aluminium's superconducti...

خواص ترابردی مغناطیسی واثر هال در نمونه هایGdpr-123

Single phase polycrystalline Gd1-xPrxBa2Cu3O7-δ samples with x=0.05 , 0.10, and 0.15 have been prepared by standard solid state reaction technique and characterized by XRD and SEM analysis. The electrical resistivity, Hall effect and magnetoresistance measurements have been on the samples. The electrical resistivity measurements indicate a reduction of transition temperature (Tc) and an incre...
